- The iMac, apart from its striking design, is at heart like any
other Mac. It runs the same OS but has a lot of fast graphics
hardware built in and different, newer ports like USB and FireWire.
It appeals to new users and home users. Apple are aiming to capture
the consumer market and the latest iMacs are just the job, being
twice as fast as the fastest pentium machine: they need to be
to do Digital Video well. All this makes the iMac different enough
to have its own family of web sites.
